Overview
William Morris held a deep appreciation for rivers, from the modest stream near Kelmscott Manor to the River Wandle, which he used for dyeing textiles at Merton Abbey. Beginning in 1883, he created a series of flowing patterns inspired by tributaries of the River Thames. The Lodden design, named after the River Loddon in Berkshire and Hampshire, features rich deep blue and olive-green hues. These ready-made eyelet curtains are printed on a 100% cotton Panama fabric and include a printed lining showcasing Morris’s iconic Willow Bough motif, crafted from a 50% cotton, 50% polyester blend.
